Italy, 1500
Setafina is a story that originates from Pavia. It is a firm that takes its strength from italian design through the art of trimming. We believe that care and attention are requirements for a good story. Through the daily work of our artisans, who are involved step by step in the implementation of tailored projects for our customers, we create bespoke trimmings using exclusive materials, astonishing narrations made of beauty.
A narration is an interpretation of our time: it is to experience the place, giving the contemporary home a new language. We chose to tie our story to the City of Pavia in order to preserve a long-established tradition: in 1500 the city used to be a crossroad for the production and commerce of precious fabrics. The mulberry trees cultivation for the production of silk, strategically set through the surrounding territory and especially in the Lomellina area, was a challenge endeavored by the Duke of Milan himself, Ludovico Sforza: according to the legend, the name by which we remember him nowadays, Il Moro, derives from the local vernacular word for mulberry.
We chose Pavia because it's from an ancient territory that the best ideas for the future can be born: we want to give a new interpretation to the story that lasted several centuries, using the language of our days, through the finest Italian design while keeping the atelier work at the center of our Maniera Italiana. Listening to customers, building up a story together that leads to a new experience, tailoring the living space into a unique narration: design, fashion and craftsmanship.
